RESTORATIONS

Massachusetts has many of the oldest buildings in the country, many almost 400 years old. (In fact, Dee lived in one of the 20 oldest in Massachusetts while her parents were restoring it.)  Also, due to many eras of prosperity, the North Shore has its share of almost every period and style of building.

Below is a Second Empire style building that had been all but destroyed architecturally, as can be seen by the "before" picture.  NSDB collaborated with Habitat for Humanity North Shore, and Deer Hill Architects on the project.  NSDB researched the building's exterior details through a number of original, blurry photos and comparable local buildings.  After we made shop drawings, the team produced brackets, braces, and scrolls.

NSDB also co-supervised the site, including removing a large, two-story addition on the back and gutting the interior (four floors).
